Hailey couldn’t help but think what an asshole this guy was being. Honestly, the vehemence he spoke with was almost story book. Hailey was ready to turn around and say, “Sayonara, douchebag,” when something he said made her stop. “Hold up, gifteds?” Hailey said, “Where did this come in?” “I mean anyone could see this guy right here has some wacky talent, but we’re just jumping in that everyone does?” Hailey of course was an anomaly as well, but she thought levitation boy was a strange coincidence. Hailey had always lived as if being “talented” was nothing something to show off, and to just pretend as if it wasn’t there. Not to say she had never experimented with her own gift. When she was younger she would hole herself up in her room in the darkness and watch as the amber shadows danced against the wall. If the levitation boy and her and Benjamin weren’t a coincidence, things changed. Suddenly, Hailey felt as if she was in the middle of a conspiracy. “Jesus, are you guys gifted too?” Hailey asked to the now walking away boy, his bent over sister at his side.

Toby glanced up over Jane's shoulder to watch as the girl's face contorted, and he saw a very faint blush come to her cheeks, her jaw grind just slightly to show he'd pissed her off a bit. She obviously was ready just to leave them, he would have left himself. Perfect, plan worked, much better than making friends and having them want to keep us around. Toby thought, making sure his thoughts didn't translate into a smirk on his face. He wanted them to leave him and his sister, why wouldn't they? What surprised him though was that the guy stared at him just as completely the same composure as before, blinking as if he didn't comprehend what was going on, but as if he didn't understant the fine tunings of it. Of course, while the world was turned upside down and flipped inside out, the girl was the one who took a slightly offensive recoil to his gifted comment aimed at the levitation boy. She quickly prolonged the conversation by throwing the ball back into his court by asking if he and Jane were gifted too. Toby smirked, rolling his eyes in a pity way. "You really think I would dis myself? No we aren't those cursed anomalies, thank god. No I highly doubt everyone back at the graveyard is gifted, one gifted is more than enough being one in a million. Everyone knows the odds of two giftedsa together anyways, but really one gifted is more than too much to be near" Toby's mouth quirked as his eyes flicked up to the boy's and then back to the girl's "So we prefer to keep our distance, thank you very much". Toby put a resolute hand on Jane, who was standing straight up now but he knew she would need to breathe soon. She would pass out if she held it much longer. Toby didn't let an ounce of his worries leak onto his masked face.

Hailey could feel her hands starting to grow hot with anger. She clenched her jaw in frustration. This guy’s reaction wasn’t strange, but he didn’t exactly have the upper hand in the situation here. Though he seemed to assume he was up against only one “cursed anomaly.” Hailey started to doubt that there was more to this than it seemed, but she knew of at least three gifteds here and that aroused suspicion she couldn’t late to rest. Hailey cast a glance at his clearly in pain companion. She was a sudden reminder of Hailey’s own brother lying on the beach back there. Pain shot through her stomach followed by a flash of anger. She couldn’t believe this asshole was what was keeping her from her little brother. “For Christ’s sake at least think about her,” Hailey exclaimed, taking an angry step forward. In her peripheral vision she watched as levitation boy, whom Hailey felt a twinge of remorse for not having attempted to include him in the conversation, followed her in taking a step towards the pair before dropping to the sand.

Danny had tried to follow the conversation through lip reading, but was forced to follow along through gesturing. While this wasn't hard, his prime language of ASL was filled with gestures, all the gestures and facial expressions etc seemed to be exactly the same, whether it be Hailey or this new boy obviously pissing him off. He watched the conversation he was clearly left of of progess in a steady negative path. He kept himself from gritting his teeth when loathing looks were shot his was from the arrogant, shorter guy before him. When finally Hailey broke, how could she not have with all the physical signs she was giving him? He instantly stepped to her side protectively, instinctively. He stared in quiet anger at the smirking boy, and took a step getting very close as shook his finger at the boy. The boy instantly reacted quickly and in hindsight violently, but not in a manner Danny would have thought. The boy latched a strong grip onto Danny's wrist, and instantly Danny went down in shock. He blinked in and out of consciousness for about ten seconds, his arm completely numb and he himself feeling as if something had been sucked from him. He felt robbed and thin, not his normal broad self as he was a second ago. Danny gasped in shock, still unable to move more than a twitch upon the sandy floor. Get up, get up, get up Danny will his scrambled brain. It was working on trying to understand where a huge loss of something had gone. Get up if Hailey has been attacked too Danny wondered as he willed himself.

“Oh shit!” Hailey shouted as the arrogant dude took down levitation boy. Hailey’s hands instantly alighted into bright white flames. “Shit, shit, shit,” Hailey repeated, not knowing what to do. She took a step towards the boy, closing her hands into fists, swallowing the fire. She shoved the guy in the chest, hard enough to make him stumble back from levitation boy. “What is your problem!?” Hailey yelled as she crouched down next to the unconscious boy. She made sure to keep the boy in her sight as glanced over her companion. She was thankful upon noticing the fluttering of his eyes. Hailey stood, “What the fuck is your problem! Cursed gifted? Are you serious right now? You are the strangest fucking anomaly I’ve ever seen.” Hailey’s voice had gotten quite and steely after her initial exclamation. She stood in front of the unconscious boy, continually clenching and unclenching her hands as she grey eyes flashed in anger. Hailey recognized the feeling of an oncoming nosebleed, but her gaze remained fixed on the boy in front of her.

Toby watched quietly as the girl freaked out, er well in his opinion quite overreacted about what had just happend. He hadn't taped the levitation boy that much of his life-force to even near hurt him, he just made sure the levitation boy wasn't going to touch either Jane or himself. She came at him instantly, a reaction Toby let her because he realized she was instinctively reacting and not thinking. He was surprised, very very surprised when the hot headed girl's hands were suddenly welding flames. Brilliant, white, and highly unnartural flames. No....Toby barely kept his shock off his face. Four gifteds? In the same place as well as what seemed like others back at the graveyard? Way too coincidental. Toby took a deep breath in, waiting for the girl to calm her antics and cussing down just enough where he could speak. She was really on his nerves, because the cussing was honestly just degrading her. "Are you done?" Toby asked after she said yet another rude comment to him, only proving his theory on trusting first impressions. The girl just glared loathingly at him, not biting but not going all out again either. "One," Toby paused slighly chastisingly. "There is no need for cussing because don't worry I think I understand your attitude just fine without it." He didn't understand the appeal to language, and having the upper hand of the whole situation, he wasn't going to let it go on so freely. "Two, he's perfectly fine and will get up in a second but thank you I take pride in being the only one to have such a gift." Toby watched the girl's hands glow slightly for a moment before she squeezed them even tighter and they returned to their normal coloring. "And three just incase you haven't noticed, there are four gifteds right here, and there are more back at the graveyard. It's more than a little bit of coincidence, don't you think? So yes cursed gifteds because we are never supposed to conjoin like this, there are many, many people who make sure of that." Toby remembered the streets, running away from their home and not being able to trust anyone until only their very high up Uncle decided to have pity on him and Jane by finding and taking them in. Many people had been after them, their gifts were way too destructive to be even allowed together. Toby felt a tap behind him, Jane, who was standing up but he could tell by the way she put her weight on his shoulder she had taken another breath. He hoped she had only tasted the girl's anger and not anything else she might be feeling. "We should go with them" Jane said softly, and Toby knew she had carefully listened to the whole conversation. "This is too strange, too coincidental." Toby nodded, his thoughts weren't as near to her's, but maybe they should go and he could see if the whole graveyard was filled with gifteds. I sincerily hope not Toby muttered mentally, and glanced down to see the levitating boy stirring almost about to pick himself up. Toby on the other hand felt great, any life forced that had been knocked away by the crash had been revived. He knew he would have to give it back if they went back to the camp though. "Ignore my brother, we'll go back to the graveyard with you. We'll even help your, i'm guessing dying? Loved one" Jane spoke up, clearly pointed at the girl and leaving Toby rolling his eyes. Jane was always sweeter and straighter to the point, she didn't test a source but just figured she could trust it. Toby blamed himself for that, him always being around had given her a sense of unbeatable security. When Toby glanced up at the girl though, her blanched face was almost worth going back to the disastrous graveyard.

Hailey glared at the arrogant boy, “What I say is not for your benefit, so I don’t really care what you think.” She began to feel the blood trickling from her nose but ignored it. “But really,” Hailey continued, “you can’t be around us because it is too coincidental.” “Don’t you think that maybe the people who you say would make sure this sort of thing doesn’t happen aren’t the reason it did. We’re stranded, the one advantage we have his being gifted and you want to act like it’s the worst possible thing.” Hailey glanced at levitation boy as he began to get up. She lent him a hand in standing, though he still seemed a bit shaky. The other girl spoke up finally, agreeing to follow them back to the graveyard. At this point Hailey wasn’t sure that it really would be beneficial to bring them back, at least the boy. Hailey’s eyes narrowed as the girl remarked about Benjamin. “Not dying, and he,” Hailey said nodding to the boy, “is going nowhere near him.” Hailey tasted the hint of blood on her lips and wiped it away absentmindedly.

Toby bit back a smirk at the girl's tart remark. He had really made himself a little, shorter, and weaker enemy with a tongue too. He watched though, slightly concerned when blood dripped down out of her nose. From the crash? He wondered. He noted the huge levitation boy standing up now, but his face had sunk in just slightly and his hands were shaking a bit. Toby wondered whether he should offer the life force back, it looked like this guy actually needed it. The girl quickly denied that someone was dying, but she by doing so admitted Jane had been right, a loved one was hurt. He bet the girl was playing it off but inside was scared to admit to herself whether the loved one was or not. She was only making it easier for Jane to figure out what was up. He couldn't help his mouth tugging up sarcastically at her remark of him not going near. All gifts were gifts and curses, so of course his had a more positive side too. He watched worriedly again as she wiped the blood away which had ended up trailing to her mouth. The girl, so oddly, didn't even seemed bothered with it as the blood were normal. "I hope your loved one isn't dying" Toby started, "but well if he is just tell me because I swear it's not all bad, and neither am I, I'm just practical" He darted his hand back onto the leviating boy before either of them could react, and jumped back out of range of being hit. He had just in a touch returned the life force, and he saw its effect when the levitating boy glared coldly at him, fully restored. "There have it back, enjoy, don't come at me or I guess we can have fun doing this all again don't you think?" Toby had perfect eye contact but they guy's face never changed, just the same cold piercing glare. He was definitely unnerved a little and confused. "Are you okay?" Toby asked hesitantly, he knew he hadn't messed anything up dealing with the life force so what was up?

Jane had been listening, but also tasting. Mostly the girl, the boy was just emitting little emotion as he passed into and out of consciousness. She knew that Toby was just being protective, but really he could have just scared them not actually taken one down, especially the bigger guy. The girl though, was fascinating. Very fascinating at the least. She rarely tasted such fierce emotions from someone, only when she was trying to master an acting role did she dare try to taste those kinds of emotions. The girl was radiating a large mix, but a mix of the same kind. They were all defensive, whether it be her confidence trying to crush the fear of losing something. The intense love for that one something, obviously something she loved very very deeply. Her anger in retaliation to Jane's brother, the different ways it was being molded into emotion of taking offense, awe, and then regaining her confidence and pursuing her anger further despite the stress of worrying. Jane tasted the little patience the girl had slowly ebb away as the conversation furthered, and so did Toby's a little too. She knew half of his emotions were fake, he was trying to keep himself if a mental state to outwit his opponent, but really after hearing the facts Jane realized there was something wrong, they needed to go back and figure this absurd situation out. She told Toby her ideas quietly, and then before Toby could veto she spoke straight out to the girl, telling her she'd go back to the graveyard (she and Toby) and she even offered Toby's gift to help him, but the girl curtly refused. Jane sighed a bit, Toby had ruined his reputation, normally he was so good about helping someone out when they needed. She watched, not wanting to breathe and have all the emotions go running and burning through her again, as Toby deftly gave back the life force to the guy who a moment earlier had looked very unstable. Jane didn't know whether to try and say something to pacify this so they could just get going but decided to stay quiet when Toby asked if there was something wrong with the boy. Jane had been wondering too, his emotions earlier had never changed in response to Toby, or at least the few that she had dared breathe in anyways

Hailey kept her grey eyes on the boy as he asked if something was wrong with levitation boy. “He’s deaf,” Hailey responded, trying to remain civil. Hailey’s eyes flicked to the girl and noticed how strange she was holding herself. It was if she was trying to keep herself from spilling out, which Hailey quickly realized could be attributed to her seeming lack of breathing. Not wanted to start something again Hailey let it go. All she wanted at this point was to go back to Ben. If something was seriously wrong with him she didn’t know what she’d do. He was all she really had left in this world. “Let’s just head back. You can follow or not,” Hailey said resignedly. She brushed levitation boy’s arm and pointed back to where everyone else was.

Toby glanced over, suprised yet realizing how obvious it was that the levitation boy was deaf. Most deaf people had all the rest of their senses become very accute to make up for the lost sense, so he would have understood all the expressions but just not words. "Oh, cool" Toby acknowledged lamely, nodding in the guy's direction. He noticed the girl give Jane a curious look, and he almost stepped infront of her to block the view but she turned around, saying that the levitating boy and she were going back no matter what. Toby glanced at Jane, it was her call because he personally was very curious to see if there were more gifted, but she would be the one affected. Jane nodded in an encouraging way, already guessing Toby's question. Toby shrugged, the second Jane was overwhelmed he would just pull them out of there. Toby put his arm around Jane's waist and waited for the other two to gain a little distance so their emotions wouldn't be as strong. They trailed the other two, the sun beating down on all four of them making the sand burn hot. Thank goodness for shoes Toby thought quietly, and focused on trying to be happy so Jane could have something good instead of the pain. She deserved something good now.

Andan stood from his seat in the sand as the few stragglers approached. The girl with the white blonde hair approached with the boy who had been levitating the wreckage, followed by another pair. None seemed quite too happy in the situation. As the girl, Hailey was her name, neared she picked up her pace and jogged to the little boy in the sand laying beside him. She crouched down by his head and made soft murmuring noises and she stroked the hair and sand from his forehead. Andan turned to look at the rest of the dismal group, his green eyes ever attentive. His hearing acute, he sorted through the sounds of the tide coming in on the beach, the sand beneath people’s shoes, the sound of cloth on cloth, and the soft murmurs of whispered conversations. Habitually, he sorted out the relevant from the non-relevant, focusing on the people in front of them. Using his gift to amplify his voice, not enough to be strange, but enough to give it a powerful, projecting feeling he spoke. “Well then, it seems all of us are here.” Or at least those of us alive, Andan conceded to himself, glancing towards the corpse of the young girl, mere yards away. Twenty-two Andan counted in all, exempting the dead girl. “The situation is dismal, to say the least, but there is nothing we can say or do that is going to change it. So, I reckon it is best that we move on from lamenting about our misfortune.” He heard Hailey mutter on her breath, which would have been enough to keep from others, but not his hearing, “Way to keep it optimistic.” Andan turned to her and whispered so just she would here, “I am only being practical.” Hailey looked up from her brother’s face, momentarily startled, “I know. I agree with you, just remember there are some little kids out there.” Andan looked back at the small huddle and realized the girl was correct. He hadn’t paid much attention to the age of the faces individually, just that, as a group, they were young. There were at least four kids under the age of ten, and he regretfully noticed three of them had tears on their faces. Andan inwardly groaned. He loathed presentation. All the time, that’s all that life seemed to be. At school he presented himself to be outgoing and caring about school. He had to be sure he fit in, playing football (soccer, he’s from France, so yeah), attending parties, maintaining good grades. He made it look like he cared, and it was all an act. He hated the majority of the people he met with day to day. They didn’t understand him, they wouldn’t accept him if they knew. Yet that was the law of the world. Everyone fits in and everyone secretly loathes everyone else for making them think they had to. Still, there wasn’t much he could to but adapt to the presentation needed now. “Look, it’s not hopeless. We have each other, and if we stay together,” Andan silently yearned that these words were false, “we will be fine.” “But,” Andan continued, “if we want to survive we have to be smart. And that starts by not being wasteful, so we should see what can be salvaged from the wreckage. We all had luggage on the plane and any spare parts could be useful.” Andan looked into the eyes of the individuals on the crowd, lingering on as many as possible, “What we really need is a plan.”

Danny walked back with the group, not daring to quell his curiosity by writing and asking Hailey what had just happened, and why in the world he had just basically fallen unconscious by a single touch. The boy was obviously gifted, and he assumed his sister was too. Why else would she be acting like she was so in pain? Either it was a malfunction of her gift, or she was seriously hurt. The four all walked back and arrived into camp. Danny regretfully saw Hailey go sprinting off immediately to someone. he glanced over and watched as she picked up a limp, slightly dirty boy with an unnerving amount of blood around his head. Danny wondered who he was, how Hailey knew him. Danny glanced behind him at the two runaways they had basically dragged back to camp. He noticed they stayed on the far edge of camp, the older boy bending over the little girl who was hunched over herself, that same painful expression upon her face. Danny assumed the boy was trying to comfort her or something, and he made a mental note to keep checking that they would hang around. He hadn't gone unconscious for nothing. Danny glanced back, there was a boy that he assumed was talking to Hailey, he saw her look of surprise at something he said, and Danny immediately wondered what it was. Would he even have been able to hear it from here? Danny sighed slightly, that was always one of his curiosities and slight saddnesses, he never would even know if he could have heard something or not anyways. Danny glanced around the camp, and started counting because he didn't know what else to do. He couldn't talk, didn't want to interrupt Hailey, and couldn't listen to anything either. He had already pretty much cleaned up the beach of any dangerous pieces or things that could have been crushing someone. Ten...thirteen...eighteen...twenty one...twenty three, not counting...Danny didn't finish his thought when his eyes unfortunately drifted over the body of a dead girl. He immediately was welled up with saddnes, her sightless eyes staring somewhere far beyond as she lay like a rag doll in the sand. He looked away, not wanting to see the scene anymore. He saw the angle of her neck, how unnatural it was. Danny watched as suddenly the people within his vision line started to move a little closer all in the same direction, their faces momentarily puzzled instead of the grim saddness they had been wearing before. He noticed as he turned they all looked, all twenty three counting the runaways, at a boy who was waiting for their attention so obviously. He looked comfortable to the unttrained eye, but Danny could pick up the movement of his Adam's apple as he swallowed a few times and as he drummed his fingers against his jeans. Small signs of uncomfortableness, not exactly nervousness. Danny looked to Hailey standing behind him, and silently (for all he could tell) over to her so he atleast had a chance of understanding what the guy would probably say. He was hopeless at lip reading, so it didn't matter where he stood. "Give me the basic idea?" Danny blazed into the sand adjacent to Hailey as he walked over. He noticed the guy's lips move, his eyes adressing his circle of listeners. Danny sat next to Hailey, but not close enough to intrude on her craddling the little boy, so obviously her brother the way they looked alike. Same hair, eye shape, and chin. One face had a lot more baby fat. He met eyes with her, and nodded towards the guy who Danny assumed had called or something to the group. The guy moved his hands as he spoke, giving Danny a little better sense of what he was saying, but without context still had no clue whatsoever. He glanced over at the runaways, the boy listening standing straight up, his hands on the girls shoulders as she just stayed on her knees in the sand, staring at the ground with her arm clasped around her chest and her hand covering her face. What is wrong? Danny wondered sympathetically.

Hailey squinted at levitation boy standing over her, just a shadow as he blocked out the sun. The sand drew her attention as it once again shifted into words. “Give me the basic idea?” it read. Levitation boy nodded towards the dark haired boy talking, Andan. Hailey paused, thinking, before she started to trace letters in the sand. Stick together. Salvage materials. Make a plan. Hailey glanced up at the curly haired boy. Pausing for a moment, Hailey continued her tight scrawl in the sand, Name?

Danny watched her scrawl words into the sand, literally giving him the basic idea which was perfect. Danny smiled, almost laughing at what the basic ideas were. He could have guessed that himself, what else was there to say? Every man for himself?
Danny watched as Hailey attached an after thought. Name? It read, and Danny tilted his head at it slightly confused, hadn't he introduced himself? He mentally checked and realized how he so rudely hadn't. I'm Danny, sorry for not saying b4, but okay thanks I'm glad its not every man for himself haha. He blazed quickly, smiling at Hailey to show the last part was a joke. Danny figured he would go and tap the dark haired boy's shoulder and point to his pile of rubbish, but would hold off on revealing he was deaf. He wasn't ashamed of being deaf, it was something unique and he wasn't broken, he just spoke a different language. It just was very, very hard when nobody could understand him, especially when he would try very, very hard to understand them.

Danny. It was nice to have a name to the face. Hailey returned his smile, though it was somewhat strained. She glanced back down at her baby brother, Benjamin. She had practically raised him and she ached not knowing if he would be alright. Knowing his gift relieved some of her fear, but not much. Nothing this dramatic had ever happened to him before. She knew his gift was powerful, she had seen him use it. Two years ago when she her father had cracked her rib in a fit of rage, Benjamin had crawled into bed with her. While she shook quietly with tears, every movement sending shooting pain, her little brother had placed his hand against her side and slowly the pain eased. It was then that she began to realize her brother was strange too. The rest of that night she held him as he lulled to sleep, silently fearing what would happen to him if anyone found out. Now she wanted nothing more badly than to be able to help her brother. She wanted to hold him, but she restrained from doing even that in fear of interfering with his healing. She noticed gratefully that many of the scratches he had had were gone. Hailey glanced at the small crowd as she heard shuffling in the sand. People began to move away, hopefully in attempts to salvage from the wreck. As much as it pained her, Hailey stood from her brother’s side. She would be of more help to him ensuring their survival than just sitting over him. “Hopefully we will find first aid kits and medication,” said a voice from behind her. Hailey turned to see Andan. Once again Hailey couldn’t help but notice that he was in such good shape for having being in a plane wreck. Hailey nodded in agreement. The strange boy looked at her intently, making Hailey uncomfortable, until he said, “You have a bit of a bloody nose, you know.” Hailey touched her upper lip and drew her hand away. It was dried now, “Nothing important.” “Alright, so what can you do?” He asked, Hailey noted a bit of an accent in his voice. “Excuse me?” “Well you know, you’re special aren’t you,” the boy stated, “We all know he is.” Andan acknowledged Danny with a nod of the head. “This guy has been levitating enormous pieces of aluminum all over the place. I reckon you have something too then?” Hailey just looked at the boy. “Oh please, let’s not pretend anymore. We all know something is going on here and fact is, the common denominator is that we’re all strange.” “And you just deduced this from one guy,” Hailey challenged, she wasn’t sure how much she trusted this guy. “Well of course I’m special too, or else this wouldn’t make sense.” “Prove it,” Hailey said, crossing her arms. The boy just smiled at her and Hailey waited. Then Hailey realized something was wrong. Everything was quiet, not even quiet but silent. Hailey reached up and touched her ears but of course nothing was wrong. She glanced around and everyone else had moved around like nothing had changed. Hailey focused her accusatory grey eyes on the strange boy, “Fix it.” Of course, she could not hear the words. The boy nodded and the world of sound returned. “Strange sensation isn’t it. I wonder what it is like all the time,” Andan said looking at Danny. “I guess it is a good thing he didn’t ask me to prove it.” “So you can make people deaf?” Hailey asked. “Not exactly, more than that,” the boy replied, “It works both ways. I could amplify sound, condense it, but we won’t go into details. I believe it is your turn.” He looked expectantly at her. Hailey turned and began to walk down the beach, casting a glance at her brother as she went. “We should be helping the others salvage,” Hailey called back to the strange boy she didn’t know what to do with.

Danny watched Hailey smile a little, but it looked slightly fake, Danny had relied on facial expressions so much throughout his life that it wasn't too hard to tell a real smile from a fake one. He took note of the worried glance down at her brother, er the boy who looked so close to her they should be related. He watched the dark haired boy comeover and start talking to Hailey, and waited a few feet off to see if the conversation would end soon. As if he could have heard what they were saying anyways. Danny watched them interact a little bit, but didn't know where they were in the conversation. He watched Hailey's eyes widen at one point and stare around completely confused. He noticed the dark haired boy look at him, then turn back to the conversation. Danny sighed slightly, and just moved the sand to read "Debris pile this way" with an arrow. Danny headed off quickly to his pile where he saw some people staring at it as if they had a chance of moving it back to the beach. He rolled his eyes at the poor people, and as he got closed raised his open right hand to the pile. He watched the top sheet of aluminum metal raise slowly and glide as his hand guided it to the shore out of the way of the people. There were about four of them there, a little banged up and definitely dirty, all definitely awed a little bit. One was smart enough to connect the details and looked around until he made eye contact with Danny. Danny nodded and levitated another piece unto the shore pile he was creating, making sure the wet pieces were no longer hot. See what's salvagable danny wrote out in front of the lone girl who had turned to look at him. She jumped back surprised, he knew though that he was far enough away that they wouldn't have been able to hear anything if they had shouted. She nodded, tapped the other's shoulders, and walked them over to the pile being created. Danny started speed walking over. They had gone over to the pile so he'd have to be extra careful where he landed everything, no need for two accidents in one day.

Hailey walked the beach, shifting through the wreckage, pulling out items she thought could still be of use. Thankfully there was quite a bit, as the crash had been as fiery as it could have been. She looked across the beach at the small group sorting through the mess. Danny had created a key point, moving wreckage with his gift. It was strange, what Andan had said. He obviously believed that they were all gifted, and it wasn’t a crazy idea. Hailey had reached the same conclusion on her own. It didn’t make her feel any better, though. She had always understood that the strangeness of the gifted wouldn’t be accepted, yet she had never thought someone would go to such lengths to eliminate them. It made her angry to think that there were people who were willing to kill children just because they didn’t understand something. With a sickened feeling Hailey looked at the young girl farther down the beach. Hailey made her way to the corpse until she stood at its feet. The girl was face-up in the sand, black hair sprawled around her head. Hailey could see the sand around her head wasn’t dark only with hair. She must have hit her head in the crash. She had olive skin, pale now from a loss of blood. She couldn’t be more than fourteen. Hailey grit her teeth but didn’t turn away. It was things like this that people needed to see but just turned their eyes from. Even now, the body had been quietly ignored. No one had disturbed the space in a twenty feet radius of the girl, despite a couple bags in the vicinity. Hailey often thought if people saw the atrocities like this they wouldn’t happen as much. Hailey was filled with a quiet rage at the people responsible for this. Hailey made a silent promise to the girl to come back and make sure she was buried. Hailey turned to the bags around the girl, recognizing one of them. It was her backpack, the grey fabric splattered with wet sand. Hailey reached down and pulled the strap over her shoulder, noting that the backpack seemed entirely fine. The other bag was a green duffel bag, burned fairly badly at one end. Hailey crouched down and opened it. It seemed to contain clothes mostly. She picked it up and worked her way back to her brother, collecting stray items and stuffing them in the duffle.

Andan sighed at Hailey’s lack of commitment to showing him her gifts. He had hoped that surrounded by people like him at least some of the presentation could be lost. He ran his fingers through his hair, brushing the remaining sand from it. He watched as she left, her white blonde ponytail swaying back and forth. Andan turned to survey the beach. The deaf kid was moving huge pieces of the plane with his mind and people had begun to congregate around him, salvaging what they could. It seemed the anomalies would be accepted but not spoken about, at least at this point. Andan’s green eyes continued their scan and stopped on a pair. They stood out from the rest of the group. They huddled together by themselves. One of them, a curly brown haired girl, hunched over as if in pain and the other, a boy, stood aggressively, obviously unhappy to be there. Andan momentarily thought about listening in on their conversation but decided against. People deserved their privacy, at least for now.

Toby was glancing over the scene, making sure no one came near and no one bothered Jane. She seemed to be doing better, but still even being here was making her live in pain. He stood infront of her, here really just to see what their best option was. Toby was going to do everything for Jane, he was her big brother and that was his job, didn't matter what the cost to himself. He noticed a tall, dark haired boy stare at them for a moment, but then turn away. Toby bent onto one knee and looked back at Jane, catching her eyes. "Feeling any better?" He asked her, putting a hand on her shoulder lightly. She shook her head just barely, and Toby realized the emotions were all still there despite the fact that most of the people were dedicated to doing beach clean up. The levitating boy was doing his thing again amidst all of them, as if showing off his gift considered curse by most Toby mentally muttered pessimistically to himself, but then stopped himself immediately and tried to think of happier thoughts. Thoughts like his dog, Jonah, at home. He'd had to leave his poor puppy behind in Switzerland, now he was especially glad he had. Jane stirred wierdly, almost shaking her head and then her face contorting in confusion. "Jane...Jane are you okay?" Toby asked worriedly, he'd never seen that in his lifetime of knowing her. Jane just squeezed her eyes tighter, and he noticed she took her hand off of her nose just slightly. Toby immediately lunged to catch his sister as she instantly fell, almost completely limp in his arms. "Jane?!" Toby nearly yelled at her. His eyes roved over her small body quickly, checking for anything that could be wrong, before returning and glancing at her eyes, fluttering slowly as she seemed (to Toby) to recovered.
