"Yes?" a sweet, way too innocent 14 year old voice said to him. Seaku looked down on her sister's sea blue eyes and gingery blonde hair, rare in his country, but it was prized in his palace. Her thin and petite figure was pale, and had freckles. That part was not uncommon. "Where were you?" Seaku already knew where his sister had been, but she needed to tell him. She would deny any truth if it came from him. "Nelac, who else?" "Sicera..." Seaku saw no point in continueing. He was 21, but his little sister was one of his favorite compainions. And Nelac was the place he used to slip off to also. "Just...pick a better time to slip off...and..uhh.." Sicera wasnt paying attention anymore, she was observing the wild Florix in the pond, ruffling their gold feathers "Sicera! Just stick around more, okay?" "Okay!" Sicera smiled, her teeth shined at him, and he noticed she had an overbite. Sicera hugged her brother, and danced away, around the corner, and the sprinted outside. "Bye.." Seaku called halfheartedly, and turned to Neriku standing on the main terrace. "Neriku.." Seaku called to his wife, "Seaku..." Neriku called and smiled back. "I like today's sunset dont you?" "Uhuh.." Seaku replied, nodding his head, and whispered into his wife's ear.
"I cant believe I got off so easy" Sicera told herself as she ran down the halls, her woven sandals echoing off the sandstone walls of her brother's palace. "A lot of sweet talking though.." "You got that right." Sicera stopped, sliding a bit on the tiled floor, and almost ran into Jaydius. "And you know how?" Sicera challenged her life long friend. "I got ears, brains, eyes, and feet. Unlike someone..." Jaydius smiled down at her, since he was six inches taller. "Your right," Sicera smiled up at Jaydius "I dont have all those things, I have more." Jaydius winced theatrically, and they both ran outside They passed the Florix and ran onto the beach where a strong wind picked up, making Sicera's hair fly like a sail and their robes flit around them. " Contica? Or Nelac?" Jaydius asked as they ran. "Contica, I want to see the market." Sicera replied, breathing heavily. She started to a slow and came down the beach to the water's edge. "Greci?" Jaydius asked suprised. "Yeah, Nervi is my friend now, and she'll take us to Contica faster than foot." "Okaaay.." Sicera knew Jaydius was freaked out, but he was skilled enough to hide it. A grey Greci floated up to the surface of the ocean, and clicked at Sicera, it's crystal fins shining. "What's with the fins?" Jaydius asked as Sicera began to step in the water. "It's to scare away predators, attract mates, and the crystal allows the Greci more power. Plus, having six fins makes the Greci slide smoothly in the water." "I know that, I've seen my father pulled by them before." "Your father? But he is only the Lord of his home And dosent even live on the sea?" Jaydius scowled at her. "He's known the three times as long as your brother" "Then you should too," Sicera replied smoothly. She smiled at Nervi, and stepped onto her back lightly, cooing and rubbing the Greci "Come on!" Sicera called happily to Jaydius. He glared at her, but stepped onto the beast. "kneel and then hang onto the spine." Sicera instructed, and Jayduis knelt and clung to Nervi's spine. "okay, let's go!". The Greci sped off quickly but smoothly. Sicera didnt even have to hang on. She smiled at Jaydius reassuringly, and Jaydius smiled back, his brown hair whipping around his face "Good bye, Nervi!" Sicera called as they stepped onto the shore of Contica. Sicera breathed in deep, and the two walked swiftly to the city. Stopping only at a small Creole tree to grab a worn cloak, and beat sandals for Sicera. "Do I look like one of you?" "Sure.." Sicera gave him a crooked smile. They slipped into the city, and ran to the market "It's even better than before!" Sicera exclaimed, even though it was winter, it was the annual trade week for the country. Almost all the towns had one merchant selling somthing here. "Not really..." Jaydius said, looking down "Wha?" Then Sicera saw her brother, Neriku, and some foot soilders. "Run!" Jaydius hissed through his teeth, and they ran to a pen of Greci, but took the longer route to confuse her brother. "Hi Sicera, and who might this be?" Seaku greeted the two fourteen year olds tersley. Sicera noticed her mouth agape and shut it quickly. "I thought you had gone back to your room, or the Florix pond!" "I thought you were at the palace!" Sicera and Seaku gave each other the same look, the one they had learned from their deceased parents. "Huns, get back to buisness." Neriku told him gently laying her head lightly on his shoulder. Seaku looked away from Sicera and glowered at Jaydius. "Who's this?" He said roughly, "a friend, who I've known my whole life" Sicera emphasized her statement. She knew she couldnt sweet talk her way out of this one. "Really? What's your name, boy?" Sicera rolled her eyes, now she knew he trusted Jaydius. The familiar glint popped into her brother's dark eyes. "Jaydius," Sicera heard her friend respond strongly, yet respectfully. Seaku eyed him for a second, then smiled, but Sicera knew what was coming next. "Nice to meet you, I'm glad Sicera has friends, but she gets to come home now." Seaku didnt leave anytime for Jaydius to repond. He pulled Sicera infront of him and directed her toward his ship. "Cada Nelu Mora!" Sicera cried out to Jaydius as she was taken away. "Cool!" Jaydius called back, and dissapeared in the crowd
