Zayde was itching under his skin, but hid it well. He didnt even flinch when Aei leaned against his shoulder. He could tell Kari was having a worse time. She had always been more strong minded, being a girl born with a sense of freedom, her gender had intensified that But then again, girls were expected to show more open love than men. Zayde laughed in his head at his comparison If Kari had heard him, she would have punched him, saying she was a child while he was a man. He noticed how comfortable Sunste was, and wondered how many years he had known. He could tell Aei was seventeen also, but Sunste looked way too tall, strong, knowing to be close to Kari's age Not that Sunste had that much more muscle on him. He'd ran the miles through the desert, strengthened his lungs, legs muscles. He'd tried dealing with Pegasi before, not that he knew how to, but that had helped at bit And, he'd naturally gained other muscle from training as a prince. He bet Sunste got his muscle from swimming. Since he lived on islands. "It's getting dark, should we be going? It's almost spooky here..." Kari asked repectfully, the first thing she had said since she had gone back into the room. Sunste smiled down at her reasuringly. "I'll protect you, dont worry." Kari smiled back, and laid her shoulder back against his, slightly wincing as Sunste laid his arm around her. Kari shot a glance at Zayde begging him to get everyone to leave. "Father, I think what Kari is saying, nicely, is that she's quite cold, and tired. You must admit it was a shock to her system." Zay looked into Kari's eyes willing her to trust him. "But it was a good shock, but it was a shock. And poor Kari's just about worn. I'm almost their, but for diffrent reasons." Zay looked at his mother and father, "It is a bit cold, and you two dressed for the hot afternoon, not evening." "And who's fault was that?" Kari muttered under her breath, and, by accident, Sunste heard. But he only smiled at Kari, muffling a laugh. "Let us leave," the twin's father declared, and the group upped, and went back to their floating carts. They all went in the same ones they'd came in. "Zay, this is our chance! we can leave now, just have the guards take us to the stables instead. We've always stashed supplies there!" Kari was thankful for the loud wind that had picked up, hiding their voices. "Fine, we'll leave tonight. But its risky, and mother and father will expect us to go to the forest. We can only go there to get our scarves, extra water, and some blankets and a flint." "I know. Our clothes are actually fine. It's not as if this is cold for us." Kari gestured to the weather. She started taking up the rich carpet from beneth her, and reached a small hatch filled with saftey supplies incase somthing happened, and money. Zay and she started grabbing the supplies: bandages, 500 dolores (dollars w/ a twist) bandages, a horrible smelling balm, salt to keep up in the desert, water, dried jerky, fruits, nuts, water, and a star/world map. "Not a lot, but it will do," Zay commented breifly He took the small, thin bag at the bottom of the box and stuffed the supplies in it. "Good men?" Kari asked the guards kindly. 'Yes your majesty?" they replied automaticly. "Could you go straight to the stables? I wish to visit my Arabian. He's been feeling down lately, and I wish to comfort him. "Ofcourse, there is plenty of guards in the stables. What of your brother though?" "Since when have I not gone with my sister?" Zay answered in his normal, strong tone. "Yes, your majesties." the guards answered, and ended the conversation. "That takes care of that," Kari said relieved. "Except for the guard problem." Zay said, frowning. "The old Servant passages. No one is allowed to use them, but us." Kari smiled wickedly. "We'll have to move quick, but how about the pegasi?" Zay said, frowning even more. "If you dont have somthing nice to say, dont say anything at all. It's easy to ask the questions, but a million times harder to answer them." Kari replied, frustrated. "the passages are big enough to fit the two smallest if they squeeze, since they are super thin being able to fly and what not." Zay finally smiled, and ruffled his sister's hair, much to her unhappiness They soon arrived at the stables, and they walked/ran to the horse wing. Kari went to her horse, Pyriki, and visited him while Zayde went to the pegasi, and eyed the servant passage at the back of each stall. He looked at the guards at the end of the hall, they couldnt see into the two stalls, but they could see him. "I am going in, dont worry about any noise, these pegasi love to stomp, sadly." Zay gave the guards a smile, and one smiled slightly back, Alzebar. He had always been a friend of the twins, and helped them through times with their parents. Zay stepped into the stall, much to the annoyance of the pegasi, and motioned to Kari to get in the other stall. Kari came over quickly, stepped in, and they both opened the servant door at the back, and started pulling the pegasi in "Thank goodness these guys are sleepy, and are curious." Kari said under her breath, and led the pegasus without too much work Though the pegasis had almost stomped on one of her feet. Zay had had more training with Pegasi and didnt have anytrouble. "I didnt get the stuff from the stable!" Kari said once they had closed the doors. She was answered by an annoyed whiny from her pegasis. "Its fine. Just keep leading your pegasis. Thank goodness they fit." Zay answered his sister. Just barely though, theiy wings brushing the sides are annoying the pegasi Kari thought worriedly, and urged her pegasi on. They soon reached the outside of the palace and ran on foot to the forest, afraid the pegasi would fly if they rode them Kari looked back at her home. "Never going back there, at least for a while." Zay spoke her thoughts. "Yeah, I know, but still." Kari turned away from her home, and just enjoyed the sense of freedom she always experianced here.
