It had been only a couple minutes, the fire was warm, Zay had been tossing, but miraculusly not moaning. The pegasi had been tugging and making a clamor, looking to the forest. Kari pulled her cloak more tightly around her. She didnt trust the forest or jungle, what ever this place was. Kari took hold of her bow, the only weapon that had agreed with her besides a sword. She loaded the bow, but set it on its side. Kari poked the fire, hoping the flames would keep unwanted animals at bay. She rubbed her dry throat. She really wished...Noise her innter insincts said instantly. Kari perked her ears, and closed her eyes. She heard soft steps, carefully placed. So a predator... Kari though as her hands made their way to their positons on her bow. Her fingers slipped into the worn positions. What ever was stalking them was big. Kari opened her eyes, her bow was covered by her cloak She looked around, and knew she was being watched Then a boy on a pegasus stepped into the clearing. He looked like Zay in the body build and age, but other than that, he looked like a person from Nine (sry, I just say the number). He was camoflaged well, and his midnight black beast. He had a set face that was all powerful, like a prince Kari thought. The it donned on her, she'd seen his face somewhere in her lessons. But that only meant she could trust him less, and it seemed like he was trying to intimidate her. He would have too, if she wasnt running from her country, been in this situation before, and was protecting Zay and herself. For all that thinking, it took about five seconds. Then the boy started to speak in the native tongue of Cancri, accusing her as a theif and saying how it was punishable by death. Kari had to make a split second decision. Act like a stranger from another country, like she was, or go on the offensive in his language.

Kari chose the latter. "Pensi che io sia un ladro? Idiota. Che fine ha fatto la parola compassione? Oppuresono le tue selvaggi persone? A differenza mia. Perché dire che sono un ladro? Per quanto ne so, potresti essereuno di troppo. Anche se io so chi sei. Ma spero che tu non sai chi siamo." She spoke without the accent the boy had, though. She hoped this wouldnt give away anything Then she though of her crown, she was still wearing it after all this time. That would be the indacator. Kari raised her bow, aiming it straight at the boy. He had nothing but a sword, no shield or armor. Though his presence and senority was a bit shocking, it only made her rise to the challenge. "Giuro, io sparo. ragazzo" She spoke venimously. She put one foot infront of the other for a better stance, and realized how crappy she felt as a survivor. She probably looked just as cruddy as one too, but that would only help her look. Atleast, she hoped she looked deadly. If she was the boy, she would be scared. Kari never missed a shot. Only in the first week of training had she missed the target. Two months later, she only hit the bullseye. She looked straight into the boy's eyes, giving him her best cold glare. Then she heard Zay shift, and in her perepheral vision, his ravaged leg gleamed hideously in the firelight. Kari quickly stepped to the side to cover Zayde, but it was too late. The boy had already seen it. Kari let a snarl work itself onto her face. If he tried to attack Zay when he was like this, she was going to shoot like no tommorow. It took a lot to render Zay like this, when most men would be screeching from the venom, the 3 inch deep wounds, and the cresent from the rest of the Phantu's teeth. "non ti nemmeno pensare di avvicinarsi" Kari called coldly But inside, she really wanted to trust this guy.
