Trei listened to the girls words, having changed from his native language to common. Trei himself reverted to her tongue, "You think I would be so mean to leave your brother here. I have enough of a heart to not do something like that, it was you I'm having a hard time with. I'll give you a truce, but I claim the Cavalli Volanti back in the name of Del Sole. It is not a long way to where I reside now." Trei watched quietly as the howlers came creeping up behind the princess, called by his whistle. "I will not hurt you. However," Trei said lowering his sword, "My howlers are here to protect me and any sense of my danger they will attack." Trei grinned as the howlers came up on either side of the girl. They stood taller than her as she crouched, and much heavier being at least two hundred pounds. Their fur bristled and their long noses drank in their scent, ready to track if need be. Their mouths were partially opened, a sign of intimidation as they bared their teeth. "Custodi, Neque," He spoke to the howlers, in a language only taught to the handlers of the animals. Trei lept down from atop Nocte, sheathing his sword. He wasn't in any sense of danger now, the howlers would warn him at any quick movement. He picked up the injured boy and placed atop the larger of the two winged horses they had brought with them. He quickly swung atop his own mount with his usual grace. "Well are you coming," he said to the girl, "They won't hurt you, for now," Trei said with his mischievous grin. The glint of malice in his eyes was slowly beginning to return to their usual brighter green, flecked with gold. What a sight I must be, Trei thought of his war paint he had put on earlier.
