Trei was awake when Kari walked in, though nearly silent on her way towards the cabin, she wasn’t entirely and it had aroused him. Trei thought about his conversation with Zayde about Kari’s thoughts on the prearranged marriage idea. He realized that Zayde may also disagree with him on the idea of it being better with more choices, but he himself chose to look at the glass as half full, not half empty. Trei was cautious of the girl pulling anything in the night so he let out a low whistle, summoning the howlers to him. The howlers moved silently into the house making no sound, the yellow eyes glowed from the reflected moonlight. Once out of its light they nearly disappeared. The two smaller ones leapt onto the couch within, while another curled up at the head of the couch, and the final howler took a position near the door, this last howler was smart enough to use his muzzle to close the door. Trei was now warm from the body heat of the howlers on the couch with him, and feeling safe enough he whispered, “Silenzio guardia.” He closed his eyes and soon dropped off into sleep.
