Kari and Zay landed just outside a small town about half and hour from the palace. "We need clothes, and you need rest," Kari said as they walked into the village. "Yes, I know, I'll find the rest place if you get the clothing." Zay looked at the run-down inn the village sported. "No inns, we'll be recognized," Kari said sternly, handing her Cavalli Voltani to Zay. "I know," Not Zay thought. If he couldnt find a good place, he'd check into an inn. Kari narrowed her eyes at her twin, but left him. Her pouch was heavy with coins, especially gold. She would get enough to pass them by, and maybe to a store also. Kari watched as Zayde indescretly left the village, nodding and saying hello in the local language. Right, I have to use that. Karillian thought, and stepped into the small shop. It had dresses and pants and everything she and Zay would need. Maybe even to see the prince, like Zay wanted. The shop keeper looked up at her and smiled, then turned back to his work. "ciao," she said and went to the breeches. She was exactly two sizes smaller than Zay, and that hadnt changed since they'd both turned ten. Kari looked and picked out two pairs of black breeches, and two brown. Six white fleece long sleeved shirts, and two pairs of boots. That was good for the hunting and traveling appral for the two, now for herself like Zayde had asked. She looked at the dresses. Red and Green looked the best on her, but she had to laugh at the dress styles. While Caryi's were flowy and light, these were heavier and had more fabric. Kari looked until she found a lighter weight and less fluffy dress in deep ruby red that clashed with her beautifully. It went to her ankle and fit her figure with only a little floof around the bottom of the dress, not to mention it had a unique design. She took the dress up to the shop keeper, thankful she'd braided her hair and washed her face earlier. "Quanto signore?" she asked, taking out a handful of gold but not showing the owner. He looked at the bunch with wide, questioning eyes. "Mio padre è un commerciante, e stiamo viaggiando a Ralea, signore bene" she explained as if abashed. The shop keeper still had a quizical look on his face, but tallied up the clothing. "un argento monete, signora" he said, and Kari went back into her pocket and produced a silver and a bronze. "Grazie, tanto, signore bene. Le tue mercanzie valgono più il prezzo." Kari nodded to him and took the clothing, leaving the money on the counter. "Buon giorno perdere!" he called after her, amazed at his luck of a silver! Kari smiled and saw Zay waiting for her. He had the two pegasi with him, but less loaded. He'd found a spot. "Here," she said softly to him, and strapped the clothing down onto the creatures. Zay then looked up to a general store. "I'll be back, I want somthing," Zay walked up to the store and stepped in. He found what he was looking for. The man was selling combes, scissors, and he hoped some kind of dye. "mi scusi, non si vende qualsiasi colorante? Oltre a nero?" he asked, looking around the store. He saw jerky also, and made a mental note. "No, non lo so. Ma l'ostetrica può avere qualche tre negozi in basso" Zay smiled and nodded, grabbing a pair of scissors, a brush, and jerky, he paid and left a bronze lighter. Kari was waiting impatiently outside, pretending to check the beasts. He quickly walked to the midwife's home. He knocked on the door and the woman opened within a heart beat. She looked him over, and nodded without a word. What a weird person Zay thought, but didnt let it show. "Entra, cosa vuoi?" she asked, and stepped into her meager home. "Auguro a colorante, signora." he responded quietly, stepping in. She nodded her head as if she already knew that, queer person. "Di che colore?" she asked and went to a bunch of clay pots. "Marrone chiaro, giallo e rosso, per favore" Zay bowed slightly, wondering whether he should leave or not. "Li ho, per un prezzo. Hai un bronzo?" Zay looked up at the women, there was more than she let on. "Sì, lo faccio" he said happier. The old women moved to her jars and picked up three. "Qui, un bronzo anche se" She held them in her hand, and held the other out for the coin. "Sì, sì! ofcourse," Zayde took out a bronze and paid for the expensive dye. "La vostra accoglienza, ciao buon ora." the women snapped, and thrust the jar into Zay's hands. "Grazie, " he said, sure the old women wouldnt want more. He walked to the door and set a copper on the small table."Grazie," he said again and left to the pacing Kari. "What took you so long?" she asked, and helped tie the things to the pegasi. "Some disguises." He said and jumped upon his Cavalli Volatani. "Whatever," Kari said and hopped on hers, and rode off with Zayde.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sunste walked proudly around his ship. Numerous ambassadors had gone around the world with the twin's escape, and he was going to dock in two hours in Andato. He looked to his crew. "We can sail faster than this! I'm not paying you in silver for nothing you dogs!" he shouted at his tired crew. "Sir!" they replied tiredly, but fastened their pace. I swear I'll find you, Karillian, whether you like it or not. Sunste walked to the head of his ship, planning on what he was going to say to the queen and king of Andato. You're majejsties (bow) I come here with some bad news I hope you could help change into good. The princess and prince of Caryi have fled from their country after they were told of their arranged marriages. They shall be found and punished quite soon, but it would be so much faster with your helpt. The queen and king of Caryi have sent out numerous ambassadors, but we have reason to suspect they landed somehwhere in your country. You see, they couldnt have rode farther than Andato, and they were flying two of the five Cavalli Voltani you presented their parents with earlier in time. Sunste stopped there. It was always better for him to get the jist of what he needed to say, and then finish the rest when he needed to. "Lord Sunste!" the first mate called, saluting. "Yes?" "We shall be docking in about three hours, giving lead way," the mate answered, keeping up his salute. "Very well, tell the men an extra bronze should they get there in two." Sunste was bored with his first mate, he wasnt very interseting but was amazing at his job. "Sir, yes sir captin," the first mate left, bellowing the news. Sunste sighed and returned to his chambers near the aft of the boat. He would never miss this crew, but he was currently missing a special object.
