Sunste met the young prince's eyes, and noticed he was just slightly taller. Naturally, because he was atleast ten years older, but it seemed to him Trei didnt really respect elders too much, his next statement invited his certainty to rise. “I wasn’t aware that Sien-ra and Cayri were going into an alliance. Though I wasn’t really aware their relations were bad enough that alliance was needed.” Sunste nearly choked on the wine he had just sipped. He had just sounded ridiculous, like the still learning and young prince he was. Smart Alec, thinks he's so smart. Sunste thought, annoyance starting to get to him. Then the prince started contradicting his own King and why Charlemagnue or one of his brothers had not been betrothed to Karillian. Sunste didnt show his annoyance at all, there was no need, and it would just seem so unprofessional. "I have a long list coming, so you may want an extra serving of soup." Sunste started, " First of all, Xirra and Caryi, which I just said," Sunste hid his smirk, "Second, do believe you are in an alliance with Cancri? I didnt realize you were at each other's throats and that's why you needed that alliance." Sunste took a quick, shallow breath as he came on with his next point. "And it is just so interesting the King should choose a blood releative to the crown, who's also a general in his majesties' military, and has served him loyally since he first met the King when he himself was merely a young prince. No, doesnt make sense at all." Sunste then remembered the Charlemagnue argument, and smiled inwardly. He like Charlemagnue the best, he had the best and worst of his siblings and the worst was the want for freedom from his older twin brothers. "Not to mention it is a custom in Xirra to marry a girl much younger than yourself, so that would put Charlemagnue out of the question and the rest of his majesties' sons are betrothed themselves, if you werent aware already." Sunste chose his words carefully, he didnt need to insult completely the Prince. He would turn out to be a great military monarch, but a little stumbling would be good for him. "So that would be all I know of, atleast for the questions you asked." Sunste looked upon his now empty glass and refilled it quickly. He looked into the prince's eyes calmly and evenly, no sense of hate or anything roiling in his stomach like those boys Mackenzie and Montegomery seemed to always cause him. Sunste started eating the soup. If the prince stayed quiet for a bit, or if he spoke again, it didnt really matter to him. But he did have to admit, this soup was marvelous compared to the dried meat and food he'd been served for the past three days aboard his ship.
