“No, nothing like that unfortunately,” Trei answered Zayde’s question, “I didn’t even get to find out how long he is planning on being here.” Trei thought it was odd how Karillian just rushed out of the room, because she didn’t want him to see her makeover? It was a question in Trei’s mind. He wouldn’t have said anything mean but whatever, he just let it go. He looked down at slip of paper Zayde had put between them. Something was written in a set of glyphs he didn’t recognize. “Can I look at this,” Trei asked Zayde. He didn’t look up, and hearing nothing saying not to, he picked up the piece of paper. Trei had a special skill with languages, usually picking up new ones quickly. He liked to practice with them, creating his own, he probably had dozens at this point, having started to create them at a young age and forgetting none of them. He enjoyed have a new language written for him and he would have to deduct what represented what. He blocked out most else, so he didn’t hear anything if Zayde said something. He got up and grabbed a clean sheet of paper and a quill from the other side of the room. He grabbed an ink bottle and sat back down in the chair. He quickly began his neat writing on the sheet, deducing what meant what. He worked at it for probably about fifteen minutes before he thought he had gotten it. He had deduced it down to three phrases, and only one seemed likely. It didn’t seem he had the complete series of glyphs for each meaning, so he wouldn’t be able to write anything long out with it but he thought he understood this. “Does this mean,” Trei paused, it was the only likely answer but it seemed a little odd, “That someone wants to use Karillian against you?” His eyes flickered up to Zayde’s face, and searched it for a reaction. | |
