“We were raised not to trust,” Trei replied to Zayde, “I still believe it’s necessary. As it goes, ‘He who does not trust enough, Will not be trusted.’” It seems to be a hard thing to balance.”

Trei’s eyes no longer flashed with silver, he had become more relaxed after being with his sisters and Zayde. Now they were the flecked with gold. He quickly picked up on Zayde’s feeling of weariness, and decided to excuse himself. “Well, I hope you will trust me enough to not go running off in the night, but do as you wish. And,” Trei paused, “I’ve noticed you no longer seem to be using your names. I would suggest you return to those with Sunste so close. I actually don’t recall them but you’re welcome to run them by me in the morning.”

Trei stood up and made a step towards the door. He stopped and turned back to Zayde, “By the way, Princess Hannah and Prince Amir will be arriving at the wharf tomorrow morning. So I will be gone early. You are welcome to come down if you choose, but by no means are you required to if you just want to lie low. However, I will be showing the two around Andato for a week. Which means I will have little time with the pair of you.” Trei sighed inwardly, “And they will be staying here as well. I think it would be better if you didn’t run into them. If they see you now and recognize you on the ship it could raise some awkward questions.”

Trei turned back towards the door, not requiring a response from Zayde. “Good night,” Trei called back with a wave of his hand, not bothering to turn around. Trei closed the door behind him and walked towards his room, running into Lili on the way. He stopped her and asked, “Can you have someone prepare two guest rooms for the Prince and Princess Sungai?” “Of course, Prince Trei,” She gave a bow and hurried away with the orders.

Trei came to his room and closed the door behind him. He sat down on his bed with a sigh, he was surprised he was this tired, it wasn’t nearly close to how late he usually went to sleep. He took his crown off his head and ran his fingers through his hair. With another sigh he stood up and headed towards his closet. He stripped off his tunic and breeches, leaving only his woolen boxers on. He picked up his crown from his bed and placed it on the manikin head. He ran his hand through his hair again and plopped down on the satin sheets of his bed. He groaned as he realized he forgot the lights. He got up and turned off the oil lamps. He returned to his bed and threw his covers over himself. He was asleep in minutes.
