Trei let out a quiet chuckle, “Yeah, bacon is pretty great.” He took his own bite or bacon and chewed for a moment. It was smart how Karillian had covered with the wasps it would give an excuse if anyone asked why he was out of it. She had seemed happy enough at the idea of garden. Enough to say lovely, at least, Trei thought to himself. He didn’t think Karillian had even used that word in a sentence before. This morning though, Trei noted, she seemed much more civilized towards him. “And guests doesn’t really give credit,” Trei said after swallowing. He continued, “Prince and Princess are pretty important. So I won’t be eating with you tonight. I have to attend a dinner banquet for them tonight. They’ll be staying here though.” Trei lowered his voice, “So I would suggest avoiding them. No need to give them a reason to give you much thought.” Returning to his normal speaking level, he added, “I could probably stop by later tonight though, if the two of you wanted. No need if you would prefer I didn’t. It would probably be later though, but it may be one of the few times I can see you two this week. Breakfast I will eat with Prince Amir and Princess Hannah. And my days will be occupied with showing them Andato and my dinners will be eaten with them, if not with my parents as well.” Trei took a sip from his glass of apple juice and took another roll from the basket, peeling away the layers as he had done with the first. | |
