Hannah gave a string of apologies to the boy. She had been heading back to her room when the boy had crashed into her. Well it wasn’t entirely his fault she wasn’t exactly looking either. She had been intrigued in her own book. While exploring some of the downstairs she had found the kitchen. The servers there were nice enough and when she had asked a server for some novels they had been obliged to get her one. So she had been absorbed in her own book when the boy ran into her.

After gathering up her own books she looked up at the boy. He was obviously not from Andato and his accent only enunciated this. His skin was dark, not anything as near as the white skin of the native’s here, though not as dark as the people of Septyni. “Uh, sorry,” Hannah said, “I didn’t see you there.” She looked at the boy and paused for a moment before saying, “I’m Hannah, by the way.” The way the boy had talked had seemed very formal and restrained. It seemed like everything here was like that. Hannah guessed it was normal but everything back home seemed so open and friendly. Sometimes she forgot what royalty was like in the rest of the world, though she didn’t think this boy knew who she was. This made her wonder where he picked up that sort of language. He didn’t sound like a commoner.
