Sharely looked at the girl amused at her petty ideas. She was living in Xirra, what could she expect? He smiled at her, his head barely shaking at how she said the ideas, too. “Welcome to Xirra, where women aren’t given as many rights as other places.” He looked at her, and noticed the way her face was formed, he wasn’t stupid, Izzy would die for a face like that. “Plus, your face isn’t helping you much either, It’s going to attract more boys than you can count. Though to give you reassurance, I hate blondes, uh. Not my style at all.” He paused and remembered her last statement. “And you do know that it’s worse than just going to jail, your punishment for fighting back? Whipping’s getting off easy. Normally you just end up with a similar fate that you would have gotten before plus a nice long sentence, so most women just put up with it. It’s not like boys can do that much to you, you are protected by the law in that case, or else mutiny would erupt within a week.” He paused, and noticed her hands sliding to her overlong boots. His hand shifted to his belt casually, but he stood up from leaning against the wall incase she attacked. “So, were I you, I’d smarten up. It’s an art for girls to learn, manipulating boys while not going to the slammer.” He looked into her eyes with a grin playing across his face, he was still laughing inwardly at her ideas. “One of the arts is finding a guy like me, but then again, I don’t let people find me too easily.” He breathed, and brushed his shaggy hair off to the left side of his face. He started to wonder if this girl who was full of thoughts could figure out what he meant. He’d give her one more chance to hold his attention, she was different and he knew she wasn’t from here, she screamed foreigner. But with that came the opportunity to learn a knew skill to help his crew, yet Sharely was feeling impatient. He wanted to give Raven the Persephone collar, and he wasn’t the most dangerous thing in the alleys and street market. Sure, he could probably beat whatever came at him, but he didn’t want to take the chance of losing. He brushed his hair back again, which had fallen back in his face, and noticed her own hair was dyed with pink. Weird…he thought, and nearly showed his grimace.
