Sharely listened to her, still amused. She would get along great with Raven he thought, and then he heard her guess wrong to his little hint. He didn’t react, but she’d seemed smarter than what she’d just said, though she was right on the face thing. He’d have to tell his father to try and disclose portraits of himself to the public because when he’d been trying to hunt he’d been badgered anytime he ran into someone who had the briefest knowledge. He watched as she went, and offered a small wave as she went. He wondered if he’d ever see her again, and guessed not. Though as interesting as the conversation had been, it was something he had gone through plenty of times. Sharely sighed still at the girl’s lack of wit in the simple areas of life. He hadn’t meant to find him because he was popular or high up in the system, but because he could spring her from an attack like the one she’d just fought, he knew plenty of boys who were opposed to the real dirty abusing of girls. Murphy the boy’s name instantly came to mind, and he sighed. Murphy seemed to always find someone whom he could spring from some boy’s trap. Sharely himself had done it enough times too, and might have for this girl if she hadn’t handled it herself. He watched as she left the alley, and then stepped out into the busy market again. His eyes scanned for anyone of his family and then laid eyes on another group of rowdy boys, but he didn’t bother to check it out. He’d already wasted enough time on one girl who hadn’t even made his effort worthwhile, merely told him a view he’d already known. He went quickly through the streets, his eyes glazing over the people and meeting a few glances before glaring and making them disappear. He finally caught sight of Raven, Murphy, and Kat at Seth’s cart, and his nose wrinkled as the market gave way to the wharf. He walked up silently behind Raven, and linked eyes with Murphy for a split second, not long enough for her to notice, and continued to scan. He poked her rib, her weak spot, and she stifled as scream. “Sharely!” she yelled, but a smiled played on her face instead of a glare. “Yeah?” he responded annoyingly and wrapped his arm around her waist with a grin. | |
