Karillian walked hautily down the hall, noticing the few servants who ran about the hall. She watched in amusment as they slid down the too-polished hallways to and from what she assumed would be the bedrooms of the Crown princess and her brother, the prince. She ignored them easily and slipped into her bedroom without too many eyes following her. She decided to add a different face to herself, the more faces, the better. Plus, she needed somthing to focus on, and her face would be somthing okay, though she'd rather pick so many more topics. Karillian shut the heavy door and took in her surroundings. She'd assumed her brother had come here first before his mission that he hadnt cared to tell her about. She looked upon the tray of food that had barely been touched, but she knew her brother had eaten, there were crumbs from bread on the plate and a water ring from a wet or cold up. Karillian looked at the plate, and passed over it without a second glance, keeping up with her snotty attitude. For some reason, she felt better in that too natural character. She stepped into the bedroom and kicked off the scratchy leather boots she'd been wearing all day and dearly wished for a knee-split skirt instead of the pants. So much more comfortable. She noticed a clear glass with a dark liquid in it, and the distinct bitter smell that she liked. "Demetrey," she kept up with her retarded act, but atleast said her twin's name with kindness. Kari picked up the glass, sipped, and then drained it. She wasnt one for manners, though her mother had drilled them into her like no tomorrow. She set the cup down and squinted at the twilight sun. A whole day had gone by--already. It felt like she'd just woken up, or more that she'd just fallen asleep on the couch. Karillian wondered whether a nap would do her any good, but decided against it. She didn't want to dream, let alone decide to. She shuddered at her silent nightmare from earlier, and then her horrid meltdown that was technically still happening. Kari rolled her shoulders back, enjoying the sensation, and the fell back onto the bed, her hair splayed freely on the bed as she just laid there. It felt good, to do nothing in comfort, not having to dream, yell, or have her heart punched through and through. Kari briefly wondered whether her brother would have another 'attack' as she was now c alling it, and if she should prepare for it. She decided against it, she felt too well here, in the warm shade of her room, or the room the prince was lending her. "I. Want. To. Leave. Now." she said to no one in particular, nor did she shout it, either. Karillian wondered whether she'd have the guts to leave this place before their ride on the boat, she honestly did not want to go on the same boat as another potentially dangerous prince or princess. And she liked the land, the sea was nauseating for her, and in her opinion the ocean stunk except for where the ocean met the sand. Dipping her toes in was the best and only good part of the ocean. Kari pulled one of the rough yet plush pillows off the bed and pushed it on her face. She felt like yelling, it was so calming yet spiking at the same time. It relieved her, and caused her to smile at times. "But I'm not allowed," she muttered into the pillow, and flipped over; the pillow resting under her. She started tracing the lines in the wall that covered the left side of her bedroom, and then she noticed the desk which was different from when she'd left, it had paper on it, and a still wet quill. She bolted up, happy to do somthing, and scanned her eyes over the paper, including the blank spots. She looked, and then filled in the appropriate lines, and added some sentences to her brother's original draft. He'd be thankful later, the fool always forgot the most basic yet nessecary spots to link his complex ideas together. She scratched some more runes onto the parchment, dipped the quill, and wrote a few more rugged symbols. She looked at her writing, and then her brothers, and sighed. It was neat, most of the way, and the dicey writing where she'd editted. "So lovely," she said sarcastically, but was happy with what she'd had to contribute. Her brother would need this in about a week, and he should probably read over his entry about their first days on the run, too. Kari stood up, streched, and then walked to the bathroom. She looked at her skin, chalky compared to her normal, dark, complexion in the mirror, and then wondered whether she'd go lighter in Xirra. There was no doubt she'd have to change her look again, and maybe she'd color Zay's hair too, brush in blonde, make him look multi-colored. She started wondering whether she'd have to change her current false name, and kind of wanted to. As much as she loved the name Katya, a new name seemed so much more appealing. She vaguely remembered from her studies how sexist the country was, and how controlled the girls were. She smiled, it might actually be fun. Name change, different life-style. She might consider moving country to country for the rest of her life, settling deep in Sien-ra when this was all over, where she'd never be found. A little hut and maybe even someone to share it with, but she cleared and shook her head. She didnt was to marry, that was the whole point of this dreaded adventure. Kari fingered her face, streching it and then letting go. It was an odd sensation, but not new. Her mind started wondering back to the Xirrian names. She knew lower class was animal, and then she forgot the upper. Was it jewels and flowers? Oh, right. It was animals, jewels, flowers. Kari instantly was opposed to higher up names, she wasnt royalty anymore, she was more than happy to give that title up. But still, the call of the streets and barely enough money to survive the month called to her, oddly enough. She started running over names for herself in Xirra. Piido, Raven, Mouse, Greci. They all sounded odd, out of place with her, she wanted somthing that revealed herself, but not her true identity as the lost princess next door. Somthing from her studies bubbled to her lip, but then was lost. She instantly felt a pull for it to come back, and thought about it for a second, troubled by the weird experiance. She chewed on her bottom lip for a second. "Anmar," she spoke, and sat on the couch nearest the fire. It was getting cold already, and she wondered where her brother could be. It had been atleast an hour and a half, thanks to her day-dreaming on the bed. "You're supposed to be the responsible one, yet you seem to be MIA." Kari said to herself, wondering if she was going crazy, talking to herself. She shoved the thought out of her mind. If she were to change her name, she'd have to fit it. A name like Anmar would not be fitting for a lunatic princess. Karillian stood up and then sat back down, she had been more comfortable than she'd realized, and warm too. She laid her head upon the arm rest, her face warm from the close fire's heat, and she sighed, then groaned. She wanted to fall asleep, again, for the third time today. What if Zayde came upon her like that? Or worse, Trei? Kari tried to jolt herself awake, but she slumped her head back to the arm rest, her will to sleep starting to overpower her will to stay awake. She was out within minutes.
