Hannah looked up at Demetrey, watching his expression. “Just a memory,” Hannah answered, taking another sip of wine which made the fire burn anew. Hannah looked away, her amber eyes searching the room. A serving girl was already headed their way, so she didn’t need to ask for someone. As she came over to clear the dishes, Hannah asked, “Could bring me a coat from my room, please?” “Yes, my lady. Do require shoes as well?” She asked in a polite tone. Hannah would prefer to go barefoot, but being on the wharf without shoes may not be smart. “Yes, my boots are in front of the sofa in the room, if you bring those as well,” Hannah replied. “Of course,” She curtsied taking Demetrey’s coffee mug, but leaving her own glass which she still held. “Everyone is so formal here,” Hannah said, “Back home, there is nothing like that. I mean, of course, we have a work relationship but they have actual conversations with people.” “It is very different here,” Hannah said. “Where are you from, I don’t remember if I had asked before,” Hannah said, her gaze going back to Demtrey. | |
