Zay was dissapointed at her lack of response to his question, but he didn't venture further. Her gaze had clearly marked the end of the conversation. He sat wtih his hands laced under his chin, feeling fatigue that shouldn't have been there. Hannah struck up a new conversation, and he noted how she held on to her glass when the girl came over to clear away the dishes. “Everyone is so formal here,” Hannah spoke up after a momentary pause. She continued to describe her own life-style, which was odd for Zay. He was happy to get a picture from her point of view, but he would never tell another person somthing like that, even if it were true for his life-style. His head jerked up as she asked where he'd came from, and whether she'd asked before. "No, you didn't ask, I said breifly. But I come from a lot of places, my mother was really never happy in one place. I swear she should have just joined a bunch of gypsies." Zayde paused for a second, wondering whether he should tell her his pre-made lie now, and decided not to fully. "My dad died when I was younger, but he taught me to read and write. Sadly, though, he had an accent which I developed. But when he died I wasnt enough to keep her attention so we constantly moved until we wound up here," he paused again for effect. "This is so weird, I never seem to be comfortable to talk much to anyone, much less about my past. Are you some kind of a witch?" Zayde teased, but it did strike him odd how she just made him want to stay and talk and be natural in her company. He smiled smally, adding to the charade, and wished he hadn't exactly finished his coffee. It would have been a good distraction.
