Zayde looked over to see Hannah's face nearly glow, but decided to keep that to himself. It would be weird to say that aloud. He walked with Hannah down the wharf to the middle where a group of sleek ships were resting. She pointed out how they were built for speed, but he nodded his head like he hadn't already known that. Zay looked as she stopped in front of one that it had no gang plank, and as if one cue, she asked whether he could climb. "Er, yeah, sure. No problem," he said, trying to sound like he was trying to hide his climbing inability when he wasn't. He seemed to always be challenged when it came to climbing. Zay breathed in deep and made for the rope ladder first, hoping Hannah wouldn't laugh at him when he tripped, fell, or tumbled thankfully over the side. He put him foot in the death trap and hoisted himself up. One foot after the other he told himself. One foot afte-- Zayde went to step to the next loop, yanking his foot as he went, when his right foot stayed locked in the ropes. "Crap," he muttered, and started pulling again. He looked down at Hannah for a second before he realized how high he was, reminding himself he was deathly afraid of heights too. "Oh God.." Zayde muttered, and tugged again for a last try. His foot came loose instantly, suprising him, and making him naturally lose his balance. His hands clutched for air and his left foot knotted in the ropes as he frantically tried to manuver to save his butt. His head knocked into the mesh of rope painfully, but his hands grabbed the rope steadying himself though upside down. "Add this to my list of why the ocean is so so." he said aloud, and worked to set himself right. He went carefully up the ropes until he came to the top sweating. "Freedom!" he said loud enough for Hannah to hear and felt the ropes shake as he assumed Hannah started climbing up. | |
