Zay tumbled down the rope ladder shakily and barely suppressed the wave of nausea that hit as he swung down to the dock. He should have paid more attention to the ‘hits near instantly’ part at the bottom. It’s like they purposely made it in the tiniest print possible! At least I can still think. Zay heard Hannah land lightly behind him, shaking the boards slightly as she connected with them. “Are you okay?” she asked, and he felt her gaze searching over him. He could tell by her face that he didn’t look okay, and realized he could probably bluff some of what he presumed was paleness on the moon. It was full, and looked like it was bleaching Hannah, too. “I’m...fine. I…er…think I just…the coffee and the…boat. Uh, I’m not as bad as I look…moon’s bleaching both of us out. If I didn’t know about the moon, I may be asking you if you were okay,” Zayde managed a smile, but it didn’t reach his eyes. He forced himself to stand straighter, despite how his stomach shot pain straight to his temple in protest. “Back to the, uh, castle?” His voice said, but it didn’t sound like his normal tone. Someone else’s voice, not his own. He faced towards the city and castle, which glowed yellow in the windows. Zay looked at Hannah, waiting and trying his hardest to look okay despite how his forehead started aching and was becoming hotter. No shit about the thing coming near instantaneously he swore, feeling only slightly better from it.
