His back was a straight, nonstop bridge from his stomach to his temple, and pain was freely traveling to and fro, burning and causing even worse nausea symptoms occur, making him wish he could gag. But he couldn’t, yet it was all three times as worse. The princess was next to him, in perfect health and condition, and it affected his ego and not to mention that the awkward way she held herself; he could tell she was torn between helping and not. They’d made it off the docks and half way to the castle when he realized his leg was buzzing and tingly. It so better be numbing, if it starts to burn, I swear I’m going to go kill myself in a ditch. His legs started to seem like lead as he walked painfully up the slight hill, his vision cloudy and the blood pounding in his ear so if Hannah said anything, it would be just a faint whisper. He breathed in deeply, and the scent made his stomach roil and crunch against the smell. He nearly doubled over, but he was focused on mind over matter. C’mon, Zay, you can do it. You don’t want to make yourself look weak to the princess. The prince gritted his teeth, ignoring the throbbing of his head, and continued. He nearly tripped twice, knocking forwards but catching himself in time, thankfully not face-planting in the mud. Just a little bit farther, not much left, you can do this, just make it to the castle and you’ll be fine. “I’m so sorry about this, truly,” he spoke up, trying to sound strong when his voice was thick and on the verge of cracking from the amount of thought and motion directed into moving his mouth. He rubbed his temple slightly, allowing a light break in the pain, and then resumed his unsteady gait he’d been trying to mask.
