Trei set down the soaked towels and stood up. He wiped his hands on his breeches quickly to dry them off. He followed Karillian out to the hall to help bring Zayde in.

He'd realized that it probably wasn't smart to have left him out there in the first place, but he had had reason. It would've been bad had some one seen him, but Trei had reasoned it would've been worse had he further injured Zayde by moving him. He was waiting for the cue from Karillian to do anything. He figured she must have at least a little more experience dealing with this.

He reached the doorframe where Zayde was already struggling to get up. Karillian had one arm in her hands. Trei hooked his arm under Zayde's and helped pull him into the room with Karillian. Trei winced everytime he thought Zayde may be in worse pain now. 

"Wait," Trei laid Zayde down inside the room and moved to close the door. "Here," Trei said and pulled a small blade from his boots. "I'm going to cut off the pant leg, so its easier to clean," Trei explained as he crouched down by Zayde. "Where is the full wound? I don't want to cut it to narrow," Trei asked, looking up at Karillian.
