Raven sat outside their base, sitting in the shade against the house. It was hotter inside than outside, despite opening every window possible and throwing the doors open. "Okay so after you've grinded the rocks enough, we'll make dye, probably out of some bark or somthing and then brew it so the color seeps. Mix in your powder from the rocks and then poof! Paint," Kat smiled at Cress, both of them grinding stones into some bowl. Raven smiled, and noticed Kat hadn't said what type of paint, for all Cress knew it was the crappiest paint in the world. But that was a business tactic, not to tell exactly what it was, and let people's natural will to hope make the product, bargain, or sale seem on the better side. "Uh it is hot, sooo hot, we should go down to the stream, our water's down anyways. Gods it is hot as he--heck, sorry," Raven spoke up, her eyes closed against the sun but open to see the sure fire annoyed face from Kat. "I said I was sorr--" "Tsk, tsk, Raven, cussing? That's not lady like behavior, especially here in wonderful Xirra," Fritz taunted, his boots causing mini-dust clouds to expand as he walked up with a game bag. The bag had definately seen better days. Raven narrowed her eyes. She and Fritz hadn't exactly been on the best of terms lately. They really only respected each other because they were both of worth to Sharely. "Whatever, it is hot. As. Hell. Can we go down to the stream? Water's down and today is the perfect day to get it," Raven closed her eyes again, the sun was glaring today despite being at sea level. "No, er actually Kat you can ask Murphy to take you and Amber," Fritz smiled, "And you, Raven can walk an hour with me to the city to trade game" Fritz shook the game bag, "Cress you want to come? It should be cooler in the city, with the fog from the ocean, plus the inn that I go to to trade, the wife likes giving out little stuff to kids." Cress eyed Fritz, and sighed. Three's company was the rule with their group, there was hardly a time where a group was less than three. And that was only when it was Sharely, Fritz, or Murphy together. "Sure, Fritz," Cress shoved his painting process next to the house and sprinkled some leaves to hide it. Fritz hoisted him up, and Cress looked at Raven. "Aren't you coming?" he asked, and Raven leaned her head against the house. "Do I have a choice--" "No, now get up," Fritz crossed his arms over his wide chest, and Raven pulled herself up annoyed. She wished Sharely was here, he'd atleast have pulled her up. "Let's go, its hot and I've already been trapping." Cress started off, and Raven smiled, he went the wrong way since they never were on this side of the house. Fritz smiled, and whistled, catching Cress' attention. He flicked his finger in the opposite direction, and Cress blushed. Raven smiled in an 'it's cool' way and squinted, the sun was starting to bother her eyes again. "Okay, Cress, we're here, the inn just up there. We're trading at the back door near the stables, and the wife normally is around there. You can keep an eye, she has blonde hair, and is tan from who knows, okay?" Fritz lectured, his game bag swinging in time with his step. Raven rolled her eyes, "Cress has done this before, Fritz," Fritz turned around to look at her, walking backwards. "Arent you supposed to be quiet now miss?" He dared her with his eyes to talk again, and then turned around and prepared to knock. Raven glared again, and her hand involuntarily sprung to her collar. They walked up to the door, Raven a few steps behind the boys, and watched as Fritz knocked. She looked over to see Cress wander to a box and try to peek over the low wall into the stables. "Raven! I think I see someone! Like, a girl with...uh...blonde hair? Well, it sort of looks like blonde hair...but somtimes it looks pink...uh" Raven smiled apologetically, and hoped Cress wasn't going color blind. "I don't know, Cress, you can check it out though, isn't that what the mighty Fritz said?" she glanced up at Fritz, who turned to meet her with a shallow glare, "Just be quiet, okay?" he frowned at a thought, and then turned back as the door started to open. Raven smiled at the inn keeper, and looked to Cress walking around the corner, as if it were a crime, and he didn't want to be caught.
