After Trei left the bathroom, Kari focused on keeping her brother awake while trying to clean off his thigh. The cleaner the less of a chance of anything else happening. She pressed a wet towel against the wound, not rubbing but letting the towel cool and alleviate any dirt that the wound had come in contact with. She grabbed her slightly limp brotherand made him lean against the tub, then wiped his sweaty hot face off. She needed to remember any memories she had of people being healed from a bite, accidental or not. Normally a tourniquet was used to quarantine the infected area. She faintly remembered the time when one of the trainers had been bitten, she had spent the day at the infirmary for a friend when the servants had brought the shuddering man in, he was given a cold towel for the headaches he was sure to have, tied down, and immediately given yellow dock brewed down. They started spreading some brown stuff upon the wound, but Kari was hustled away before she could see anything else. Kari sighed, she wasn't lashing her brother up an had no herbs of any help at all really. She removed the sticky towel from her brother's leg and laid a new one on.
Kari's head snapped up when she heard low arguing outside their apartment, it had only been a moment since Trei had left...so who else could it have been? She couldn't hear the person who had been lashed out at, but she trusted Trei had enough power to bar any troublesome person. Kari turned back to her brother before she heard feet come in to the apartment straight for the bathroom. Darnshe should have locked the door or shoved something up against it. Trei and a random girl came in, Trei obviously not happy with however she had earned her way in. She walked with authority though, obviously a natural born power welder, which was even worse. No one was important enough to know they were here, especially those who had power which meant education and access to social gossip. The smaller girl came straight towards Zay and sat down right next to Kari, taking in the sickening scene. Kari quickly glared at the girl, who did she think she was? Especially invading her space, not just anyone was allowed to come up to her and her twin brother despite the social disgrace they bother now bore. Kari heard the girl swear for the second time at the situation and watched as she commanded Trei to go hurry up and fetch something. She watched in even more amazement as the pricne actually listened and quickly left without a word. She needed to find out this girl's secret. A name might help too.
"Alright we'll need bandages for him, do we have any?" The girl asked honestly, obviously fully focused on the situation and none on the alarm she ha just caused or the commotion (more so than before) she had just stirred up. Who did this random girl think she was? Kari went on full alert mode. Trei trusted her enough to give them away so she could be somewhat trusted but there was no way she was going to have the chance to do anything harful to her brother. How did Kari know if she was loyal to Sunste at all? Or even worse loyal to the Crown and accidentally let someone else find out? Kari's thoughts ricocheted throughout her head, and she gladly let her distrust show upon her make-up covered face. "We dont have real bandages, we have a seemingly endless supply of fluffy white towels courtesy of the crown, and as much as I'd like to and have thought about it, I don't believe I'm allowed to rip the satin sheets. Do you come from the Crown as part of this elaborate scheme of hospitality?" Kari asked without missing a beat. She didn't mind being comical now, and really anyone who was ticked off by it could just join the long list of people she'd annoyed. Right now her personality was take it or leave it Zayde started to shudder slightly, his feet jerking about. Kari pulled off his shoes before he kicked someone. | |
